Read all directions. Make sure you understand the process and are familiar with all the parts. 3. Take everything out of the box and double check that all the parts have been included. If you are missing any parts or have any questions please call our showroom at 973-778-5624. If the showroom is not open, please leave a detailed message on our answering machine and someone will return your call as soon as possible 4. Tools provided reversible ratchet, socket, open end wrench, bolts, washers and nuts. Assembling your Sukkah Your Sukkah has been pre-drilled. A sketch of your sukkah has been supplied showing the location of the doors and the numbered panels. 1. Locate the corners marked with a 1. 2. Stand the panels up and place the two corners together so that the two 1 1 are aligned. (the numbers are marked on the upper part of the panels, either on the back of the frame, or on the sides for the corner panels) Make sure the finished part is on the inside and the frame with the numbers are on the outside. There are two leveling marks, one under each number and one on the lower part of the panel beneath the number. These marks tell you when the panels are properly leveled and whether the bolts will go through smoothly 3. Making sure the level marks on both panels are properly aligned, place a 5 bolt (larger ones) with a washer through the upper and lower holes. Place another washer and nut on both bolts and hand tighten them. 4. Continue with the next panels following the number sequence. Use 4 bolts (smaller ones) for straight connections and the 5 bolts (larger ones) for the corner connections. 5. After all connections have been completed tighten the bolts using the tools provided. 6. Place the notched 2 x 4s over the walls with the notches fitting into place. (You may have to push the walls slightly in or out. This will give the sukkah a proper square.) 7. If you have ordered recessed schach, bring the support into the sukkah and place one end of the support through the cut outs of one wall with the notches facing down. Push support through the cut out until the notch is 12 inches past the wall (if the notch latches onto the wall lift slightly while pushing). Then lift other end of support and place through the cut out in the opposite wall. Push it until the notches latch onto both walls. You may need to adjust the wall slightly in order to ensure that both notches are locked into the wall. 8. You are now ready to place the schach above. If you are using mat-type schach, lay it perpendicular to the supports and unroll it on the supports. If you are using mats, we strongly recommend that you place an additional piece of wood over the top of the mats (this wood is not included). If you are using bamboo-type schach , place it perpendicular to the supports over the top of the sukkah. 9. Do not hang any directions from the mats. They are not designed to hold any weight. Decorations can be hung from the wooden supports or from the bamboo rod-type schach. 10. If you have not purchased your sukkah with waterproofing we strongly recommend that you waterproof your sukkah right away. (see below) Enjoy your new Sukkah and have a Happy Holiday. TAKING APART YOUR DURAWOOD DOUGLAS FIR SUKKAH To disassemble your Sukkah, follow these instructions in reverse. We recommend strongly, that before storing your Sukkah or schach it MUST be completely dry. Suggested Waterproofing. To waterproof your Sukkah we suggest you purchase Thompsons wood protector or other high quality clear wood finish. Using a roller, roll the finish liberally onto all sides of the Sukkah. Afterwards use a brush to apply the finish in the corners and other areas you were unable to reach with the roller. Follow manufactures directions. |
