Valuemax assembly instructions
Your new ValueMax Sukkah system has been designed for easy assembly. The only tool you will need to construct your Sukkah is a hex key, which has been provided. Please read the following instructions fully and carefully before beginning construction. A few minutes of reading now may save you hours of frustration later.

Note: Sukkah walls longer than 10 in length are constructed of two poles connected in the middle by a "T" fitting. A 12 wall will be made of two 70" pipes connected to the "T" fitting. A 16 wall will be constructed of two 94" pipes connected to a "T" fitting. (See chart on page 2.)
PARTS DESCRIPTIONS
Pipes: The number and length of pipes included with your ValueMax Sukkah system is determined by the completed dimensions of your Sukkah (see chart). Pipes are used as both uprights and horizontal supports.

(ie: a 8x 12 Sukkah uses a 90" pipe for width and two 70" pipes for length.)
Single Socket Door Fitting:?????
(with 3" pipe attached)

Corner Fittings (8): Corner fittings link two horizontal pipes with a upright section of pipe. The hex nuts of corner fittings should always face upwards.

"T" Fitting: 4 included for larger Sukkah systems (8 x 12, 10 x 12, 8 x 16 and 10x16).

"T-Plus" Fitting: 2 are included for a 10 x 20 Sukkah and 4 are included for a 10 x 24 Sukkah. Custom-sized Sukkahs may have additional "T-Plus" fittings.

Hex Key: (Also known as Allen wrench.) Needed to fasten fittings
to pipe. Two are included with each ValueMax system.
Notched wooden supports are placed on top of horizontal "roof" poles and are used to support bamboo or mat schach.
ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
BEFORE YOU BEGIN:
- Think about where your Sukkah will be placed and how it will stand. You need to decide where the door will go before you begin construction.
- Read all directions. Make sure you understand the process and are familiar with all parts.
- Take everything out of the box and double-check to ensure that all parts have been included. If you are missing any parts, please call our showroom, 973-778-5624. If the showroom is not open, please leave a detailed message on our answering machine and someone will return your call as soon as possible.
- All directions (right or left) are always given from facing the Sukkah from the outside.
ASSEMBLING YOUR VALUEMAX SUKKAH SYSTEM
- Lay out the base of your Sukkah. You will need either 4 pipes and four bottom corner fittings, or six pipes, four bottom corner fittings and two "T" fittings, depending on the size of your Sukkah (for 10 x 24 only 8 pipes, 4 corner fittings and 4 "T"-fittings). Refer to the chart on page 2 to determine which size pipes to use for the base.
- Fit bottom pipes into the corner fittings (and "T" fittings if applicable) up to the rim. Make sure to leave enough room for the upright pipe to fit completely into the fitting.
- Tighten screws.
- Attach top corner (and T or T-Plus fittings if applicable) to upright poles, leaving two inches of pipe at the top. Do not fully tighten these screws at this time.
- Attach the single socket door fitting to the top horizontal pole where the door will be. . (When assembling, the screws should face the inside of the Sukkah.) Do not tighten. Note: the door will always be on the right of the shorter sides of the Sukkah For side door Sukkahs, the door will be between the center upright and the left corner, if you are looking from the outside. (Note: If your Sukkah measures 10 x 20 or larger, there will be two doors on opposite 10 sides of the Sukkah.)
- Beginning with a short wall, attach two uprights with corner fittings at the top to bottom corner fittings (making sure the top corner fittings are facing the proper direction). Tighten screws. Attach horizontal "roof" pole between the uprights. Tighten top fitting screws that fit horizontal poles. Continue, attaching uprights to corner and/or "T" fittings, then attaching top horizontal poles, until frame is complete. Tighten all screws.
(If your Sukkah is 20 feet in length (or longer), there will be a "T-Plus" fitting on top to connect the horizontal poles, vertical pole and a third pole which stretches across the "roof" of the Sukkah to the opposite side)
- Lay out canvas on the outside of the sukkah, beginning with the door. The grommets belong on the top. Remember that the zipper must positioned at the right corner of the Sukkah (or center for side door Sukkahs).
- Two feet from the zipper you will see an eyelet that marks the door section. The eyelet will be hooked into the single socket door fitting after the canvas is attached to the Sukkah. This will allow your Sukkah door to open and close.
We suggest that you use a ladder or another stable base to work from, in order that the top of the canvas is below shoulder height.
- Working counter-clockwise from the eyelet (brass grommet)-zippered end of the canvas, attach all the grommets to the top of the vertical poles. Place the door eyelet over the door fitting and pull towards the zipper. Tighten the single socket door fitting. You can then close the zipper. The small pipe should face upwards. The door can be opened by unzipping and then sliding the Velcro towards the single socket door fitting. We recommend that the Velcro on top of the door be sufficiently loose to allow for easy opening.
- IMPORTANT: The canvas of each ValueMax Sukkah has been specially designed to fit tautly around the vertical poles, assuring you of the strongest possible Sukkah. In order to attach the canvas to the vertical poles, you will probably need to "pull" the canvas from one pole to the next, especially during the first time your Sukkah is assembled. This is normal. Take your time and be patient; your canvas will fit around all the poles.
- Secure the canvas to the horizontal poles using the Velcro closures on the top and bottom of the canvas. Make sure that the canvas is pulled as high as it can go. If necessary, the top corner and "T" fittings can be adjusted up or down. If adjusting, secure the top poles by tightening the screws of the corner and "T" fittings.
- Place the wooden supports over the top poles parallel to the short walls (for 6 x 8 and 8 x 10 parallel to the long walls). The supports should be equidistant from each other and from the walls of the Sukkah.
- If you are using mat-type schach, lay it perpendicular to the supports and unroll it on the supports. If you are using mats, we strongly recommend that you place an additional piece of wood over the top of the mats. This wood is not included in your ValueMax Sukkah System. If you are using bamboo-type schach, place it perpendicular to the supports over the top of the Sukkah.
- Do not hang any decorations from mats. They are not designed to hold any weight. Decorations can be hung from the wooden supports or from bamboo rod-type schach.
NOTE: If your Sukkah is placed in a large open area or an area that is subject to strong winds we suggest that you secure it using bungee cords (or other types of fastening material ie: string) and tightening it to a secure object in order to prevent it from shifting or blowing over.
TAKING APART YOUR VALUEMAX SUKKAH
To disassemble your ValueMax Sukkah System, follow these instructions in reverse. We recommend strongly, that before storing your Sukkah or schach it MUST be completely dry. We recommend that you leave the corner and "T" fittings on the vertical pipes. This will facilitate construction next year.
If you have any questions about these directions or you experience a problem while assembling, please call the National Sukkah Outlet at 973-778-5624. If the showroom is not open, please leave a detailed message on our answering machine and someone will return your call as soon as possible.
